If you want to spend your vacation in Dubrovnik as the old noble Dubrovnik families did, Kazbek summer castle is a good choice.

Kazbek, summer castle, ever since it was built in 1573 by the noble family Zamanja, had a violent history. It was burned and demolished by Russian-Montenegrin forces in 1806. During the Second World War Italian invaders used it as a prison for Croatian war prisoners. After the war it was confiscated by the Yugoslav communists and used as a school and storage. Throughout the centuries and all valuable parts were destroyed and the castle suffered badly due to mismanagement. When Croatia became an independent state Kazbek was returned to its private owners and since than has changed several owners till today’s owner decided to restore it and return it to glamorous state it deserves.

Kazbek is now renovated to the highest standard and has regain its original beauty and function as a summer residence for guests with high demands on service, privacy and culture, combined with modern facilities.

Kazbek is located directly at the seaside in the Gruž bay, 3 km northwest of Dubrovnik Old city. The marina in front of the castle is especially appreciated by guests interested in sailing and excursions to the numerous exotic islands around Dubrovnik.

Kazbek has 26 beds in 12 double rooms and one suite. All rooms are of the highest standard equipped with “smart room” system with air-condition, SAT & PAY TV, mini-bar, wireless internet. Kazbek is mainly intended to be rented as one unit for conferences and private parties with a high degree of service and privacy. Individual rooms could also be rented.

Kazbek has a pool with jacuzzi, sauna, one indoor and two outdoor restaurants, two bars, fitness centre and a conference room for up to 30 people.

The whole Kazbek area is completely a smoke free zone and the objective is to serve primarily healthy and ecological food. The menu consists mainly of Croatian regional specialties and local fine wines.
